Yaaa ayyuhan naasuttaqoo Rabbakum; inna zalzalatas Saa’ati shai’un ‘azeem
Yawma tarawnahaa tazhalu kullu murdi’atin ‘ammaaa arda’at wa tada’u kullu zaati hamlin hamlahaa wa tarannaasa sukaaraa wa maa hum bisukaaraa wa lakinna ‘azaabal laahi shadeed
Wa minan naasi mai yujaadilu fil laahi bighairi ‘ilminw wa yattabi’u kullaa shaitaanim mareed
Kutiba ‘alaihi annahoo man tawallaahu fa annahoo yudilluhoo wa yahdeehi ilaa ‘azaabis sa’eer
Yaaa ayyuhan naasu in kuntum fee raibin minal ba’thi fa innaa khalaqnaakum min turaabin thumma min nutfatin thumma min ‘alaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatinw wa ghairi mukhallaqatin linubaiyina lakum; wa nuqirru fil arhaami maa nashaaa’u ilaaa ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughooo ashuddakum wa minkum mai yutawaffa wa minkum mai yuraddu ilaaa arzalil ‘umuri likailaa ya’lama min ba’di ‘ilmin shai’aa; wa taral arda haamidatan fa izaaa anzalnaa ‘alaihal maaa’ah tazzat wa rabat wa ambatat min kulli zawjin baheej
Zaalika bi annal laaha Huwal haqqu wa annahoo yuhyil mawtaa wa annahoo ‘alaakulli shai’in Qadeer
Wa annas Saa’ata aatiya tul laa raiba feeha wa annal laaha yab’asuman fil quboor
Wa minan naasi mai yujaadilu fil laahi bighairi ‘ilminw wa laa hudanw wa laa Kitaabim Muneer
Saaniya ‘itfihee liyudilla ‘an sabeelil laahi lahoo fiddun yaa khizyunw wa nuzeequhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati ‘azaabal lhareeq
Zaalika bimaa qaddamat yadaaka wa annal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil’abeed (section 1)
Wa minan naasi mai ya’budul laaha ‘alaa harfin fa in asaabahoo khairunit maanna bihee wa in asaabat hu fitnatunin qalaba ‘alaa wajhihee khasirad dunyaa wal aakhirah; zaalika huwal khusraanul mubeen
Yad’oo min doonil laahi maa laa yadurruhoo wa maa laa yanfa’uh’ zaalika huwad dalaalul ba’ed
Yad’oo laman darruhooo aqrabu min naf’ih; labi’salmawlaa wa labi’sal ‘asheer
Innal laaha yudkhilul lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaar; innal laaha yaf’alu maa yureed
Man kaana yazunnu allai yansurahul laahu fid dunyaa wal aakhirati fal yamdud bisababin ilas samaaa’i summal yaqta’ falyanzur hal yuzhibanna kaiduhoo maa yagheez
Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu aayaatim baiyinaatinw wa annal laaha yahdee mai yureed
Innal lazeena aamanoo wallazeena haadoo was saabi’eena wan nasaaraa wal Majoosa wallazeena ashrakooo innal laaha yafsilu bainahum yawmal qiyaamah; innal laaha ‘alaa kulli shai’in shaheed
Alam tara annal laaha yasjudu lahoo man fis samaawaati wa man fil ardi wash shamsu walqamaru wan nu joomu wal jibaalu wash shajaru wad dawaaabbu wa kaseerum minan naasi wa kaseerun haqqa ‘alaihil ‘azaab; wa mai yuhinil laahu famaa lahoo mim mukrim; innallaaha yaf’alu maa yashaaa (make sajda)
Haazaani khasmaanikh tasamoo fee Rabbihim fal lazeena kafaroo qutti’at lahum siyaabum min naar; yusabbu min fawqi ru’oosihimul hameem
Yusharu bihee maa fee butoonihim waljulood
Wa lahum maqaami’u min hadeed
Kullamaa araadooo any yakhrujoo minhaa min ghammin u’eedoo feeha wa zooqoo ‘azaabal hareeq (section 2)
Innal laaha yudkhilul lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru yuhallawna feehaa min asaawira min zahabinw wa lu’lu’aa; wa libaasuhum feehaa hareer
Wa hudooo ilat taiyibi minal qawli wa hudooo ilaaa siraatil hameed
Innal lazeena kafaroo wa yasuddoona ‘an sabeelil laahi wal Masjidil Haraamil lazee ja’alnaahu linnaasi sawaaa’anil ‘aakifu feehi walbaad; wa mai yurid feehi bi ilhaadim bizulmin nuziqhu min ‘azaabin aleem (section 3)
Wa iz bawwaanaa li Ibraaheema makaanal Baiti allaa tushrik bee shai’anw wa tahhir Baitiya litaaa’ifeena walqaaa’ imeena warrukka ‘is sujood
Wa azzin fin naasi bil Hajji yaatooka rijaalanw wa ‘alaa kulli daamiriny yaateena min kulli fajjin ‘ameeq
Li yashhadoo manaafi’a lahum wa yazkurus mal laahi feee ayyaamimma’loomaatin ‘alaa maa razaqahum mim baheematil an’aami fakuloo minhaa wa at’imul baaa’isal faqeer
Summal yaqdoo tafasahum wal yoofoo nuzoorahum wal yattawwafoo bil Baitil ‘Ateeq
Zaalika wa mai yu’azzim hurumaatil laahi fahuwa khairul lahoo ‘inda Rabbih; wa uhillat lakumul an’aamu illaa maa yutlaa ‘alaikum fajtanibur rijsa minal awsaani wajtaniboo qawlaz zoor
Hunafaaa’a lillaahi ghaira mushrikeena bih; wa mai yushrik billaahi faka annamaa kharra minas samaaa’i fatakh tafuhut tairu aw tahwee bihir reehu bee makaanin saheeq
Zaalika wa mai yu’azzim sha’aaa’iral laahi fa innahaa min taqwal quloob
Lakum feehaa manaafi’u ilaaa ajalim musamman summa mahilluhaaa ilal Baitil ‘Ateeq (section 4)
Wa likulli ummatin ja’alnaa mansakal liyazkurus mal laahi ‘alaa maa razaqahum mim baheematil an’aam; failaahukum ilaahunw Waahidun falahooo aslimoo; wa bashshiril mukhbiteen
Allazeena izaa zukiral laahu wajilat quloobuhum wassaabireena ‘alaa maaa asaabahum walmuqeemis Salaati wa mimmaa razaqnaahum yunfiqoon
Walbudna ja’alnaahaa lakum min sha’aaa’iril laahi lakum feehaa khairun fazkurusmal laahi ‘alaihaa sawaaff; fa izaa wajabat junoobuhaa fakuloo minhaa wa at’imul qaani’a walmu’tarr; kazaalika sakhkharnaahaa lakum la’allakum tashkuroon
Lany yanaalal laaha luhoo muhaa wa laa dimaaa’uhaa wa laakiny yanaaluhut taqwaa minkum; kazaalika sakhkharhaa lakum litukabbirul laaha ‘alaa ma hadaakum; wa bashshiril muhsineen
Innal laaha yudaafi’ ‘anil lazeena aamanoo; innal laaha laa yuhibbu kulla khawwaanin kafoor (section 5)
Uzina lillazeena yuqaataloona bi annahum zulimoo; wa innal laaha ‘alaa nasrihim la Qadeer
Allazeena ukhrijoo min diyaarihim bighairi haqqin illaaa any yaqooloo rabbunallaah; wa law laa daf’ul laahin naasa ba’dahum biba’dil lahuddimat sawaami’u wa biya’unw wa salawaatunw wa masaajidu yuzkaru feehasmul laahi kaseeraa; wa layansurannal laahu mai yansuruh; innal laaha la qawiyyun ‘Azeez
Allazeena im makkan naahum fil ardi aqaamus Salaata wa aatawuz Zakaata wa amaroo bilma’roofi wa nahaw ‘anil munkar; wa lillaahi ‘aaqibatul umoor
Wa iny yukazzibooka faqad kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa Aadunw wa Samood
Wa qawmu Ibraaheema wa qawmu Loot
Wa as haabu Madyana wa kuzziba Moosaa fa amlaitu lilkaafireena summa akhaztuhum fakaifa kaana nakeer
Faka ayyim min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa wa hiya zaalimatun fahiya khaawiyatun ‘alaa ‘urooshihaa wa bi’rim mu’at talatinw wa qasrim masheed
Afalam yaseeroo fil ardi fatakoona lahum quloobuny ya’qiloona bihaaa aw aazaanuny yasma’oona bihaa fa innahaa laa ta’mal absaaru wa laakin ta’mal quloobul latee fissudoor
Wa yasta’jiloonaka bil’azaabi wa lany yukhlifal laahu wa’dah; wa inna yawman ‘inda Rabbika ka’alfi sanatim mimmaa ta’uddoon
Wa ka ayyim min qaryatin amlaitu lahaa wa hiya zaalimatun summa akhaztuhaa wa ilaiyal maseer (section 6)
Qul yaaa ayyuhan naasu innamaaa ana lakum nazeerum mubeen
Fallazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati lahum maghfiratunw wa rizqun kareem
Wallazeena sa’aw feee Aayaatinaa mu’aajizeena ulaaa ika As-haabul jaheem
Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolinnw wa laa Nabiyyin illaaa izaaa tamannaaa alqash Shaitaanu feee umniy yatihee fa yansakhul laahu maa yulqish Shaitaanu summa yuhkimul laahu aayaatih; wallaahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem
Liyaj’ala maa yulqish Shaitaanu fitnatal lillazeena fee quloobihim maradunw walqaasiyati quloobuhum; wa innaz zaalimeena lafee shiqaaqim ba’eed
Wa liya’lamal lazeena ootul ‘ilma annahul haqqu mir Rabbika fa yu’minoo bihee fatukhbita lahoo quloobuhum; wa innal laaha lahaadil lazeena aamanoo ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem
Wa laa yazaalul lazeena kafaroo fee miryatim minhu hattaa taatiyahumus Saa’atu baghtatan aw yaatiyahum ‘azaabu Yawmin ‘aqeem
Almulku Yawma’izil lillaahi yahkumu bainahum; fallazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati fee jannaatin Na’eem
Wallazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fa ulaaa’ika lahum ‘azaabum muheen (section 7)
Wallazeena haajaroo fee sabeelil laahi summa qutilooo aw maatoo la yarzuqan nahumul laahu rizqan hasanaa; wa innal laaha la Huwa khairur raaziqeen
La yudkhilan nahum mud khalany yardawnah; wa innal laaha la ‘Aleemun Haleem
Zaalika wa man ‘aaqaba bimisli maa ‘ooqiba bihee summa bughiya ‘alaihi la yansurannahul laah; innal laaha la ‘Afuwwun Ghafoor
Zaalika bi annal laaha yoolijul laila fin nahaari wa yoolijun nahaara fil laili wa annal laaha Samee’um Baseer
Zaalika bi annal laaha Huwal haqqu wa anna maa yad’oona min doonihee huwal baatilu wa annal laaha Huwal ‘Aliyyul kabeer
Alam tara annal laaha anzala minas samaaa’i maaa’an fatusbihul ardu mukhdarrah; innal laaha Lateefun Khabeer
Lahoo ma fis samaawaati wa ma fil ard; wa innal laaha la Huwal Ghaniyyul Hameed (section 8)
Alam tara annal laaha sakhkhara lakum maa fil ardi wal fulka tajree fil bahri bi amrihee wa yumsikus samaaa’a an taqa’a ‘alal ardi illaa biiznih; innal laaha binnaasi la Ra’oofur Raheem
Wa Huwal lazee ahyaakum summa yumeetukum summa yuhyeekum; innal insaana la kafoor
Likulli ummatin ja’alnaa mansakan hum naasikoohu falaa yunaazi ‘unnaka fil amr; wad’u ilaa Rabbika innaka la ‘alaa hudan mustaqeem
Wa in jaadalooka faqulil laahu a’lamu bimaa ta’maloon
Allaahu yahkumu bainakum Yawmal Qiyaamati feemaa kuntum feehi takhtalifoon
Alam ta’lam annal laaha ya’lamu maa fis samaaa’i wal ard; inna zaalika fee kitaab; inna zaalika ‘alal laahi yaseer
Wa ya’budoona min doonil laahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaananw wa maa laisa lahum bihee ‘ilm; wa maa lizzaalimeena min naseer
Wa izaa tutlaa ‘alaihim Aayaatunaa baiyinaatin ta’rifu fee wujoohil lazeena kafarul munkara yakaadoona yastoona bil lazeena yatloona ‘alaihim Aayaatinaa; qul afa unab bi’ukum bisharrim min zaalikum; an Naaru wa ‘adahal laahul lazeena kafaroo wa bi’sal maseer (section 9)
Yaaa ayyuhan naasu duriba masalun fastami’oo lah; innal lazeena tad’oona min doonil laahi lai yakhluqoo zubaabanw wa lawijtama’oo lahoo wa iny yaslub humuz zubaabu shai’an laa yastanqizoohu minh; da’ufat taalibu wal matloob
Maa qadrul laaha haqqa qadrih; innal laaha la Qawiyyun ‘Azeez
Allahu yastafee minal malaaa’ikati Rusulanw wa minan naas; innal laaha Samee’un Baseer
Ya’lamu maa baina aydeehim wa maa khalfahum; wa ilal laahi turja’ul umoor
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanur ka’oo wasjudoo wa’budoo Rabbakum waf’alul khaira la’allakum tuflihoon (make sajda)
Wa jaahidoo fil laahi haqqa jihaadih; Huwaj tabaakum wa maa ja’ala ‘alaikum fid deeni min haraj; Millata abeekum Ibraaheem; Huwa sammaakumul muslimeena min qablu wa fee haaza li yakoonar Rasoolu shaheedan ‘alaikum wa takoonoo shuhadaaa’a ‘alan naas; fa aqeemus salaata wa aatuz zakaata wa’tasimoo billaahi Huwa mawlaakum fani’mal mawlaa wa ni’man naseer

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

O people, be conscious of your Lord. The quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing.
On the Day when you will see it: every nursing mother will discard her infant, and every pregnant woman will abort her load, and you will see the people drunk, even though they are not drunk—but the punishment of Allah is severe.
Among the people is he who argues about Allah without knowledge, and follows every defiant devil.
It was decreed for him, that whoever follows him—he will misguide him, and lead him to the torment of the Blaze.
people! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection—We created you from dust, then from a small drop, then from a clinging clot, then from a lump of flesh, partly developed and partly undeveloped. In order to clarify things for you. And We settle in the wombs whatever We will for a designated term, and then We bring you out as infants, until you reach your full strength. And some of you will pass away, and some of you will be returned to the vilest age, so that he may not know, after having known. And you see the earth still; but when We send down water on it, it vibrates, and swells, and grows all kinds of lovely pairs.
That is because Allah is the truth, and because He gives life to the dead, and because He is Capable of everything.
And because the Hour is coming—there is no doubt about it—and because Allah will resurrect those in the graves.
And among the people is he who argues about Allah without knowledge, or guidance, or an enlightening scripture.
Turning aside in contempt, to lead away from the path of Allah. He will have humiliation in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection We will make him taste the agony of burning.
That is for what your hands have advanced, and because Allah is not unjust to the servants.
And among the people is he who worships Allah on edge. When something good comes his way, he is content with it. But when an ordeal strikes him, he makes a turnaround. He loses this world and the next. That is the obvious loss.
He invokes, instead of Allah, what can neither harm him nor benefit him. That is the far straying.
He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit. What a miserable master. What a miserable companion.
Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds into Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Allah does whatever He wills.
Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him in this life and in the Hereafter—let him turn to heaven, then sever, and see if his cunning eliminates what enrages him.
Thus We revealed it as clarifying signs, and Allah guides whomever He wills.
Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Sabeans, and the Christians, and the Zoroastrians, and the Polytheists—Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah is witness to all things.
Do you not realize that to Allah prostrates everyone in the heavens and everyone on earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the animals, and many of the people? But many are justly deserving of punishment. Whomever Allah shames, there is none to honor him. Allah does whatever He wills.
Here are two adversaries feuding regarding their Lord. As for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be tailored for them, and scalding water will be poured over their heads.
Melting their insides and their skins.
And they will have maces of iron.
Whenever they try to escape the gloom, they will be driven back to it: “Taste the suffering of burning.”
But Allah will admit those who believe and do good deeds into Gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be decorated therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be of silk.
They were guided to purity of speech. They were guided to the path of the Most Praised.
As for those who disbelieve and repel from Allah’s path and from the Sacred Mosque—which We have designated for all mankind equally, whether residing therein or passing through—and seek to commit sacrilege therein—We will make him taste of a painful punishment.
We showed Abraham the location of the House: “Do not associate anything with Me; and purify My House for those who circle around, and those who stand to pray, and those who kneel and prostrate.”
And announce the pilgrimage to humanity. They will come to you on foot, and on every transport. They will come from every distant point.
That they may witness the benefits for themselves, and celebrate the name of Allah during the appointed days, for providing them with the animal livestock. So eat from it, and feed the unfortunate poor.
Then let them perform their acts of cleansing, and fulfill their vows, and circle around the Ancient House.
All that. Whoever venerates the sanctities of Allah—it is good for him with his Lord. All livestock are permitted to you, except what is recited to you. So stay away from the abomination of idols, and stay away from perjury.
Being true to Allah, without associating anything with Him. Whoever associates anything with Allah—it is as though he has fallen from the sky, and is snatched by the birds, or is swept away by the wind to a distant abyss.
So it is. Whoever venerates the sacraments of Allah—it is from the piety of the hearts.
In them are benefits for you until a certain time. Then their place is by the Ancient House.
We have appointed a rite for every nation, that they may commemorate Allah’s name over the livestock He has provided for them. Your God is One God, so to Him submit, and announce good news to the humble.
Those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, and those who endure what has befallen them, and those who perform the prayer and spend from what We have provided for them.
We have made the animal offerings emblems of Allah for you. In them is goodness for you. So pronounce Allah’s name upon them as they line up. Then, when they have fallen on their sides, eat of them and feed the contented and the beggar. Thus We have subjected them to you, that you may be thankful.
Neither their flesh, nor their blood, ever reaches Allah. What reaches Him is the righteousness from you. Thus He subdued them to you, that you may glorify Allah for guiding you. And give good news to the charitable.
Allah defends those who believe. Allah does not love any ungrateful traitor.
Permission is given to those who are fought against, and Allah is Able to give them victory.
Those who were unjustly evicted from their homes, merely for saying, “Our Lord is Allah.” Were it not that Allah repels people by means of others: monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques—where the name of Allah is mentioned much—would have been demolished. Allah supports whoever supports Him. Allah is Strong and Mighty.
Those who, when We empower them in the land, observe the prayer, and give regular charity, and command what is right, and forbid what is wrong. To Allah belongs the outcome of events.
If they deny you—before them the people of Noah, and Aad, and Thamood also denied.
And the people of Abraham, and the people of Lot.
And the inhabitants of Median. And Moses was denied. Then I reprieved those who disbelieved, but then I seized them. So how was My rejection?
How many a town have We destroyed while it was doing wrong? They lie in ruins; with stilled wells, and lofty mansions.
Have they not journeyed in the land, and had minds to reason with, or ears to listen with? It is not the eyes that go blind, but it is the hearts, within the chests, that go blind.
And they ask you to hasten the punishment. But Allah never breaks His promise. A day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your count.
How many a town have I reprieved, although it was unjust? Then I seized it. To Me is the destination.
Say, “O people, I am only a plain warner to you.”
Those who believe and work righteousness—for them is forgiveness and a generous provision.
But those who strive against Our revelations—these are the inmates of Hell.
We never sent a messenger before you, or a prophet, but when he had a desire Satan interfered in his wishes. But Allah nullifies what Satan interjects, and Allah affirms His revelations. Allah is Omniscient and Wise.
In order to make Satan’s suggestions a trial for those whose hearts are diseased, and those whose hearts are hardened. The wrongdoers are in profound discord.
And so that those endowed with knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, and so believe in it, and their hearts soften to it. Allah guides those who believe to a straight path.
Those who disbelieve will continue to be hesitant about it, until the Hour comes upon them suddenly, or there comes to them the torment of a desolate Day.
Sovereignty on that Day belongs to Allah; He will judge between them. Those who believe and do good deeds will be in the Gardens of Bliss.
But those who disbelieve and reject Our revelations—these will have a humiliating punishment.
Those who emigrate in Allah’s cause, then get killed, or die, Allah will provide them with fine provisions. Allah is the Best of Providers.
He will admit them an admittance that will please them. Allah is Knowing and Clement.
That is so! Whoever retaliates similarly to the affliction he was made to suffer, and then he is wronged again, Allah will definitely assist him. Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.
That is because Allah merges the night into the day, and He merges the day into the night, and because Allah is Hearing and Seeing.
That is because Allah is the Reality, and what they invoke besides Him is vanity, and because Allah is the Sublime, the Grand.
Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky, and the land becomes green? Allah is Kind and Aware.
To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Allah is the Rich, the Praised.
Do you not see that Allah made everything on earth subservient to you? How the ships sail at sea by His command? That He holds up the sky lest it falls on earth—except by His permission? Allah is Gracious towards the people, Most Merciful.
And it is He who gives you life, then makes you die, then revives you. The human being is unappreciative.
For every congregation We have appointed acts of devotion, which they observe. So do not let them dispute with you in this matter. And invite to your Lord; you are upon a straight guidance.
But if they dispute with you, say, “Allah is fully aware of what you do.”
Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection regarding what you disagree about.
Do you not know that Allah knows everything in the heavens and the earth? This is in a book. That is easy for Allah.
Yet they worship, besides Allah, things for which He sent down no warrant, and what they have no knowledge of. There is no savior for the transgressors.
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, you will recognize disgust on the faces of those who disbelieve. They nearly assault those who recite to them Our Verses. Say, “Shall I inform you of something worse than that? The Fire! Allah has promised it to those who disbelieve. And what a wretched outcome!”
people! A parable is presented, so listen to it: Those you invoke besides Allah will never create a fly, even if they banded together for that purpose. And if the fly steals anything from them, they cannot recover it from it. Weak are the pursuer and the pursued.
They do not value Allah as He should be valued. Allah is Strong and Powerful.
Allah chooses messengers from among the angels, and from among the people. Allah is Hearing and Seeing.
He knows what is before them, and what is behind them. To Allah all matters are referred.
you who believe! Kneel, and prostrate, and worship your Lord, and do good deeds, so that you may succeed.
And strive for Allah, with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you, and has not burdened you in religion—the faith of your father Abraham. It is he who named you Muslims before, and in this. So that the Messenger may be a witness over you, and you may be witnesses over the people. So pray regularly, and give regular charity, and cleave to Allah. He is your Protector. What an excellent Protector, and what an excellent Helper.
